On June 14, 2025, law enforcement received a report of a sexual abuse of a now 16-year-old by her stepfather, AIONEL BLAMO COOPER [DOB REDACTED]. During a summer camp with her church, the child [NAME REDACTED] initials ABC, reported to her youth counselor sexual abuse she endured by her stepfather over the last 2-3 years. She told her counsel that she previously told her mother about the abuse, but her mother told her she was overreacting, and this could break up the family. She told her mother in August 2024, and the abuse did stop after her mother and other family members confronted COOPER. ABC was subsequently interviewed by CornerHouse.
She reported the abuse started when she was in middle school. COOPER would watch ABC while she showered. After she took a shower, COOPER would insist on inspecting her, to determine if she did in fact shower. COOPER would make her lie on his bed naked and open her legs. On one occasion, COOPER attempted to insert an egg in ABC’s vagina to determine if she was a virgin. COOPER explained this is done within his African culture. This happened while living in New Hope, Hennepin County, Minnesota. When they moved to Maple Grove, COOPER would make ABC get dressed in his room.
ABC’s mother would be at work during this time. After ABC showered, she would go into COOPER’S room to get ready and COOPER would make her lay down on the bed, naked, with her legs open. He would then insert his fingers into her vagina and rub back and forth. ABC would tell COOPER she did not like this and would cry. COOPER would bribe ABC with material items to gain her submission. This happened on multiple occasions. When COOPER would make ABC lay down on the bed to “inspect her”, she would tell him that she did not like it.
COOPER told her they could stop for a few weeks but would then start up again. COOPER told ABC not to tell her mom. ABC realized at that time that what he was doing to her was really bad. ABC reported that COOPER also kissed her with tongue on multiple occasions. An officer spoke to COOPER. He stated ABC was not regularly showering so he would go into the bathroom to inspect to make sure she was in fact showering. When she got out of the shower, he would inspect her back to determine if it was wet or dry.
He would also check her armpits to determine if she shaved. COOPER stated ABC was told to get ready in his room in the morning. COOPER admitted he was in the room when ABC would get changed and that this was normal. COOPER was asked if he ever inserted an egg into ABC’s vagina. COOPER denied doing this to ABC but stated this is done in Africa and he told ABC about it. The age difference between COOPER and ABC is 244 months. In the interest of public safety, a WARRANT is requested.
