On November 26, 2025, at approximately 2:30 P.M., officers of the Minneapolis Police Department responded to reports of an assault in progress in the vicinity of 500 8th Ave. SE, City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers contacted the reporting party, VICTIM, who was a tow truck operator attempting to tow away an SUV when DORRANCE LEROY ROBERTS [DOB REDACTED], DEFENDANT herein, approached VICTIM and assaulted him by punching and head-butting the VICTIM. DEFENDANT then threw VICTIM to the ground and fled in a second vehicle.
Officers were able to observe a bloody laceration to VICTIM’s face. VICTIM provided officers with video footage and still images from the tow truck’s in-cab video system that corroborate VICTIM’s account and VICTIM also provided images of the DEFENDANT that officers were able to compare. The injuries to VICTIM resulted in approximately 14 stitches to his eyebrow, a concussion, and a chipped tooth requiring dental repair. From the video, it appears the DEFENDANT may have wielded an unknown device in his hands during the assault.
