On December 4, 2025, officers responded to a domestic violence call at a residence in the 2200 block of 5th Avenue South in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, officers met with the Victim who reported that the father of her children, JAMAL TYRONE JOHNSON [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, just threatened to kill her. The Victim said Defendant came over to her home to visit his children. Defendant began calling the Victim derogatory names and when she attempted to respond, Defendant became increasingly aggressive and physically approached her while making threats such as “I am gonna to kill you.” Defendant also threatened to kill any of the Victim’s new boyfriends.
The Victim [NAME REDACTED] incident and reported that she believed that the Defendant was capable of seriously injuring or killing her or her children. The Defendant fled the residence when the Victim called 911. Defendant has the following qualified domestic violence-related offense convictions: ••-CR-••-•••• Threats of Violence (convicted 1/24/24) ••-CR-••-•••• Felony Domestic Assault (convicted 5/27/22) ••-CR-••-•••• Felony A5 (convicted 5/24/19) ••-CR-••-•••• Felony VNCO (convicted 10/31/18) ••-CR-••-•••• Felony Domestic Assault (convicted 10/31/18) ••-CR-••-•••• MSD Assault 5 (convicted 4/14/16) Due to the nature of the offense and the Defendant’s criminal record, the State respectfully requests the Court issue a warrant to protect public safety, the Victim’s safety, and ensure Defendant’s presence in court.
