On November 19, 2025 at approximately 11:26 P.M., Trooper Bowen responded to a driving complaint that was found on camera on westbound Interstate 694 near Rice Street. The vehicle was a small red Ford Ranger pickup with writing on the sides, and had been speeding and in and out of three different lanes of traffic. Dispatch was able to record the vehicle swerving through lanes, not using a signal and tailgating. The trooper caught up to the vehicle, on westbound Highway 694 near Highway 65, in the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota.
The trooper observed the vehicle traveling visually fast and make numerous lane changes without using a turn signal. The trooper monitored the vehicle, using a calibrated radar unit, at 84 m.p.h. In a posted 60 m.p.h. Zone. The trooper stopped the vehicle, bearing MN license plate [PLATE REDACTED], and made contact with the driver, later identified as David John Greene, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. The trooper found that defendant's license was cancelled as inimical to public safety. Defendant opened his door and stated the window does not work.
The trooper immediately smelled the overwhelming odor of a recently consumed alcoholic beverage emanating from defendant. Defendant slurred his words and was unstable on his feet while exiting the vehicle. Defendant denied consuming alcohol tonight. The trooper attempted field sobriety testing and defendant would not follow directions. Defendant refused to take a preliminary breath test at the scene. Defendant was placed under arrest. While the trooper was searching defendant, defendant taunted him and laughed, saying things like, "Oh what's in there buddy?" While trying to place defendant into the squad car, defendant refused to move his knee so the trooper could not shut the car door.
In response to being told to move his knee, defendant attempted to provide the trooper by saying, "Or what? What are you going to do if I don't?" While enroute to the Fridley Police Department, defendant continued to threaten the trooper and his family countless times. Defendant said, "I wish I could take these off and beat your ass I'd love to beat your clean shaven fucken flat top head in." Defendant said, "I gotta pick up my kids tomorrow so don't interrupt that before I have to find you and beat your ass and your wife's ass and all your family's ass don't interrupt my parenting structure that'd be a damn shame don't do it though I promise you don't do it." The trooper decided to head to Anoka County Jail instead of reading the implied consent advisory.
