After conducting an investigation during which they developed probable cause that Rodney Lorenzo GRIFFIN [DOB REDACTED] was dealing cocaine and was, as a prohibited person, in possession of firearms, members of the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office (HCSO) Violent Offender Task Force (VOTF) obtained a search warrant authorizing the search of [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul, Ramsey County, the search and arrest of GRIFFIN, and the search of several of GRIFFIN’s vehicles. The warrant was signed by the Honorable Judge Jenneifer L. Verdeja of Ramsey County, On 11/17/2025, the Task Force placed the residence at [ADDRESS REDACTED] under surveillance.
At about 1250 hours, GRIFFIN was observed leaving the residence and getting into one of his vehicles. GRIFFIN was followed to [ADDRESS REDACTED] where he was arrested. He was then transported back to the residence. At approximately 1330 hours, police began their search of the home. Once the residence was secured, Police brought GRIFFIN into the home. Based upon officer safety concerns, police asked GRIFFIN if there were any firearms hidden in the home. GRIFFIN advised that there were two firearms hidden in the couch.
Police searched the couch and found 1) a loaded North American Arms.22 caliber derringer and 2) a loaded Taurus.357 Mag revolver. Next to the pistols were several green Crown Royal bags, which are commonly used by drug dealers to contain controlled substances. One of the bags contained a quantity of clear plastic baggies, which are commonly used to package controlled substances for individual sale. The second bag contained several golf-ball sized packages of suspected cocaine. During the search of the residence, police found equipment commonly used to manufacture crack cocaine, which tested for positive traces for cocaine.
They also found two bags of suspected narcotics on a TV tray/end table in the main living room. Next to the suspected narcotics was a prescription pill bottle with Griffin's name on it. In various locations in the residence, police located Item lA-10 bindles of FTP crack cocaine with total weight of 5.50 grams with packaging. 1 bindle was weighed with packaging.50 grams and then without packaging.44 grams Item 1B-11 bindles of FTP cocaine with total weight of 5.89 grams with packaging. 1 bindle was weighed with packaging. 70 grams and then without packaging.23 grams Item 2A- 31 bindles of FTP cocaine with total weight of 20.65 grams with packaging. 1 bindle was weighed with packaging.62 grams and then without packaging.46 grams Item 2B- 28 bindles of FTP cocaine with total weight of 10.60 grams with packaging. 1 bindle was weighed with packaging.36 grams and then without packaging.23 grams Item 2C- 1 baggie of FTP cocaine with total weight of 5.82 grams without packaging Item 2D- 36 bindles of FTP cocaine with total weight of 20.55 grams with packaging. 1 bindle was weighed with packaging.50 grams and then without packaging.43 grams Item 7- 2 bindles of suspected cocaine with total weight of 2.90 grams with packaging Item 8- multiple boxes of ammo located on top shelf in front room of living room 3 ••-CR-••-•••• Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 11/19/2025 Item 9- Ruger P94.40 caliber located on top shelf in front room of living room.
