Based upon the information contained therein, your Complainant believes the following to be true and correct: That at approximately 12:08 A.M. On November 22, 2025, Officer Haas was out on routine patrol with her Field Training Officer Lauden Rinzel when Officer Haas, while driving through the Holiday Gas Station parking lot, was flagged down by a Holiday store employee who indicated that the Honda Accord, currently parked and running at a gas pump, had been there for an extended period of time and asked Officers to check it out.
It should be noted that Holiday is located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Cottage Grove, Washington County, Minnesota. Officers Haas and Rinzel approached Honda Accord and made contact with the only occupant, a male party whom they identified as one BENJAMIN ROSS LINDGREN, hereinafter referred to as “the Defendant.” The Defendant informed Officers that he “just picked up the vehicle” and drove it to Holiday so he “could eat and check his phone.” Officer Haas ran the Defendant and learned that the Defendant’s driver’s license, due to his prior alcohol related history, contained the restriction requiring the use of an “ignition interlock” device.
Officer Haas observed that the Honda Accord was NOT equipped with any interlock type device. Officer Cole Pfeiffer had arrived to assist. Officer Pfeiffer met with the Holiday staff and reviewed their surveillance video. Officer Pfeiffer confirmed that it was the Defendant who drove the Honda Accord into the Holiday lot and up to the gas pump. Officer Haas, while checking the Defendant’s driving record, learned that the Defendant has the following convictions for violating a Minnesota driving restriction requiring the use of an ignition interlock device: Date: Offense: Location: 5/15/2023 Ignition Interlock Violation Washington County, Minnesota 9/13/2023 Ignition Interlock Violation Washington County, Minnesota 11/15/2023 Ignition Interlock Violation Ramsey County, Minnesota Officer Haas reapproached the Honda Accord and took the Defendant into custody for the violation of a restricted license.
