On 12-26-2025 at about 0900 hours, St. Paul Police responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul, Ramsey County for an in-progress assault. CAD comments said a male assaulted a security guard and the suspect was detained by security at the address. On scene, police saw a security guard, CDO, in the shelter entrance with a male suspect handcuffed on the ground. The suspect was later identified as Jahquon Isiah JOHNSON (4-1-1991). OLSON told police that guests need to check in with staff and have their community card issued to them by staff before being admitted inside.
There is usually a line of people waiting during this process. JOHNSON cut into the line and, when CDO confronted him, JOHNSON became verbally aggressive. When CDO tried to remove him, JOHNSON elbowed him in the head, making contact near his right eye. JOHNSON was taken to the ground and handcuffed. Then, when CDO stood JOHNSON up, JOHNSON tried to headbutt him. CCTV footage confirmed CDO’s account of the incident. JOHNSON has two prior qualified domestic violence-related offense convictions within the last three years ••-CR-••-•••• (5th Degree Assault (GM) (12-11-2025)) and ••-CR-••-•••• (Threats of Violence (F) (9- 18-2023)). JOHNSON was uncooperative when being booked at the LEC. He then complained of chest pain and was transported to Regions Hospital for evaluation.
While there, JOHNSON tried to jump out of the hospital bed, thrashed around, and struggled with officers. JOHNSON was eventually medically cleared and returned to the LEC. For purposes of Rule 6.02, JOHNSON is on probation.
