Probable Cause
On March 26, 2026, at approximately 2210 hours, officers responded to the 46th and I35W Transit Center in Hennepin County, MN. Dispatched aired that there was a male observed on camera holding a female against the wall; after releasing the female she pulled out either a knife or box-cutter. Upon arrival, officers spoke with both parties who were still at the location. Victim [NAME REDACTED], stated that she has a child [NAME REDACTED], Steven Jay Clark, Jr., [DOB REDACTED] (now referred to as "Defendant"). Victim [NAME REDACTED] explained they were at the transit center and got into an argument regarding soda.
The argument escalated, at which point Defendant pushed her against the wall and held her there. Defendant then placed his hand around Victim [NAME REDACTED]'s neck. Victim [NAME REDACTED] said she was scared of what Defendant would do to her, so fearing for her safety she pulled out a box cutter and waved it toward Defendant. Shortly thereafter, Defendant calmed down. Victim RB stated there have not been any prior police reports regarding domestic assaults with the Defendant, including one about a year ago.
Defendant has the following QDVROs: - 5th Degree Assault - 1/14/2020 - 19AV-CR-18-2747 - Stalking - 2/27/2017 - 07-CR-16-3530 The boxcutter was recovered. Defendant is currently in custody at the Hennepin County Jail.
