Deputy Bebeau ran a DVS check and located an individual who he believed was the driver of the vehicle. Deputy Bebeau also learned that the driver had an active warrant out of Anoka county, who was later identified as PATRICK JOHN GADBAW, [DOB REDACTED] [hereinafter defendant]. Deputy Bebeau then caught up to the vehicle on Highway 10 and 115th Avenue in Becker, Sherburne County, MN and initiated a traffic stop. Upon making contact with the driver, Deputy Bebeau confirmed the identity to be the defendant.
The defendant was taken into custody without issue. Deputy Bebeau also identified the passenger inside the vehicle and confirmed there was an active warrant out of Anoka county for her as well. The passenger was arrested without incident. Deputy Sorenson, Deputy Reasoner, and Deputy Bebeau then conducted a tow search of the vehicle. Deputy Sorenson located a black backpack behind the driver’s seat that contained a small baggie with a white crystal-like substance. The substance was NIK tested and render positive for methamphetamine, weighing approximately 1.22 grams.
Additional items located in the vehicle were multiple glass pipes with residue. Deputy Bebeau asked the defendant who the backpack belonged to and the defendant admitted the back pack was his.
