On March 5, 2026, Woodbury Police Officer was on routine patrol when she observed a vehicle parked in a in the aisle at the Green Mill, City of Woodbury, Washington County, Minnesota. When Officer drove through the parking lot, the vehicle backed out and began driving away. A check of the registration showed that the registration status to be suspended. The vehicle then briefly parked in another no parking zone/handicap spot at the County Inn and Suites. Then the vehicle drove out of that space and returned to the Green Mill.
The vehicle continued to switch parking lots and spaces, but no one exited the vehicle and went inside of any of the businesses. The vehicle then exited a parking lot, failed to stop at a stop sign and the passenger brake light was inoperable. The vehicle then moved to the left lane with signaling. Officer attempted to stop the vehicle. The vehicle continued to travel, so Officer activated the squad's lights and sirens and the vehicle stopped in the left turn lane just north of I94. Officer approached the vehicle, the driver, Jeremy Taylor, rolled down the window, immediately began smoking a cigarette and acknowledged that the car was not insured.
Officer also noted that Taylor smelled of an alcoholic beverage and was later arrested for DWI. The passenger was identified as Gary Anthony Smith, Jr., [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Defendant's driving status is DAC-IPS. While searched the vehicle, Officers located drugs under the passenger seat which had been occupied by Defendant. There was also an open Hennessy bottle shoved into the center console. There were also multiple plastic bags with white and clear crystal-like substances under the passenger seat.
There were also an open bottle of New Amsterdam vodka and a baggie of marijuana. A large baggie of a crystal-like substance was located in the glove box. The following items were located under Defendant's seat 2.89 grams of marijuana 1 package contained field tested positive.31 grams of cocaine 19 packages containing a combined weight of 9.56 grams field tested positive cocaine 10 packages containing a combined weight of 7.55 grams of field-tested positive methamphetamine 13.71 grams of field-tested positive methamphetamine 0.24 grams of field-tested positive methamphetamine Defendant was read his Miranda Rights and admitted that the drugs were his and that he was selling them.
Defendant is in custody.
