Probable Cause
On March 18, 2026, Officers from the Columbia Heights Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault at a residence in the City of Columbia Heights, Anoka County. Upon arrival, officers made contact with the reporting party, A. G. V. A. G. V. Stated she had gotten into an argument with her boyfriend, Matthew Ronald Niper, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the Defendant. The argument escalated into a physical altercation where Defendant put his hand around A. G. V.’s neck and squeezed until she could not breathe.
A. G. V. Had fresh bruises around her neck consistent with being strangled. Defendant was located nearby and taken into custody.
