On or about January 18, 2026, an officer with the Northfield Police Department took a report of threats having started the night of January 17, 2026 sent to Victim, [NAME REDACTED] in police reports, by Thomas Ulysses ENGLISH, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein. Victim [NAME REDACTED], Northfield, Rice County, MN. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was dating ENGLISH's ex-girlfriend. Victim [NAME REDACTED] on or about January 17, 2026; sending ENGLISH photos of Victim and ex-girlfriend together. ENGLISH and Victim [NAME REDACTED]. ENGLISH sent Victim a video in which ENGLISH was holding what appears to be a rifle in his hand, pointing the gun directly at the camera while holding it, and stating "you will die b****" "I'd really do that to you." Also observed in the video is another male, appearing to hold a cross-bow, stating "I'll kill your dumbass." Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Messages continued to be exchanged into January 18, 2026. In a post-Miranda statement ENGLISH described being intoxicated when he messaging Victim.
ENGLISH described messaging Victim [NAME REDACTED] was going to hurt him. ENGLISH described the gun he was holding in the video was an airsoft gun and his friend was holding a cross-bow.
