On December 25, 2025 at approximately 8 A.M., a law enforcement officer was approached on foot a female while in the parking lot of a business located at the 5700 block of 34th Avenue South in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota. The female, identified as D. T., was crying and speaking softly. She reported that she was physically assaulted by her boyfriend, AVERIAL KENNETH FELTON [DOB REDACTED]. She and FELTON have been in a significant romantic relationship for approximately one year. D. T. Reported FELTON came over to her residence the day before.
Her residence is also located in Minneapolis. She told him to leave and not come back. FELTON then circled her residence, knocking on her windows. FELTON was intoxicated and D. T. Reports that he gets very angry when he drinks. FELTON kicked D. T.’s door, breaking the door frame and gaining entry to her residence. An argument ensued and D. T. Begged FELTON to leave. FELTON refused to leave and continued to consume alcohol which made him angrier. While in D. T.’s bedroom, FELTON pushed D. T. Into the wall, injuring her elbow.
D. T. Then sat on the bed and FELTON straddled her. He then put both of his hands around her neck, applying pressure. D. T. Was unable to breath and lost consciousness. When D. T. Regained consciousness, FELTON was still in her bedroom. D. T.’s voice was raspy and she had pain swallowing. Once FELTON fell asleep, she left the house and reported the assault. FELTON was located inside the residence and placed under arrest. FELTON is currently in-custody in the Hennepin County Jail.
