Probable Cause
On March 29, 2026, police were dispatched to a residence located in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, based on a report of a domestic assault. Officers arrived and located the reporting party, an adult female identified herein as “Victim.” Victim [NAME REDACTED] had scratch marks on her face and neck. Victim [NAME REDACTED] injuries were from her boyfriend, DONOVAN DEXTER BOONE [DOB REDACTED], who had just left prior to police arrival. Victim reported that BOONE held her down and used his hands and forearm to strangle her.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] could not breathe and thought she was going to die. The assault stopped when Victim’s adult daughter entered the room, at which point BOONE left the house and Victim called 911. BOONE has at least two prior domestic violence related convictions in the past ten years. On August 11, 2022, BOONE was convicted of felony domestic assault in court file 27-CR-20-12084. On April 12, 2018, BOONE was convicted of domestic assault by strangulation. BOONE is out of custody. A warrant complaint is therefore requested so that conditions of release can be established.
