On November 1, 2025 at 1737 hours, Maplewood Police Officer Brian Born was dispatched to Best Buy in Maplewood, Ramsey County, regarding a male that concealed merchandise and left without paying. The male left in a Chevrolet Impala with MN License JNJ390 registered Lewis Deshawn Collins, [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant herein. Officer Born arrived and spoke with loss prevention who reported the Defendant entered the store and spent 4 minutes in the store, concealing eight Donkey Kong video games for Nintendo Switch, and then the Defendant left without paying.
Officer Born ran the vehicle and found it was registered to the Defendant. The Defendant also had a recent mugshot from when he was trespassed from the Rosedale Mall for shoplifting at Dick's Sporting Goods. Security footage matched the picture of the Defendant in this incident. The value of each game is $69.99 for a total loss of $559.92. Roseville Police Department stopped the Defendant on November 2, 2025, and arrested him. The Defendant was in possession of two Donkey Kong video games.
