Antonio Desean Meeks

On May 13, 2026, at approximately 9:50 P.M., Metro Transit police were conducting video surveillance at the bus shelter located at Fifth and Minnesota Streets in St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota. Reports indicate that this bus shelter has generated a large number of calls for service and community complaints regarding narcotics and other prohibited activity. Police observed a male, later identified as ANTONIO DESEAN MEEKS – [DOB REDACTED], with a blue lunchbox conduct what appeared to be multiple hand-to-hand drug transactions.

Police requested that additional officers respond to assist as MEEKS began to leave the area. As officers moved in, MEEKS attempted to flee on foot. Police advised MEEKS multiple times not to run, but he refused all directives and continued running. As he ran from police, MEEKS threw the blue lunchbox into the bed of a truck. Eventually, officers caught up to MEEKS, and he was taken into custody. Inside the lunchbox, police located a Smith and Wesson M & P Shield 9mm firearm loaded with 11 rounds, a scale, and suspected narcotics.

In a search incident to arrest, police recovered cash from MEEKS. While in custody at the hospital, MEEKS asked police to find his girlfriend’s vehicle at Fifth and Minnesota and get her house keys from the vehicle. MEEKS made the following spontaneous statements to police: “I give you consent to look inside my vehicle”, “I don’t have any drugs inside the car”, “I bought the gun from someone downtown”, and “I’m not a drug addicted.” Presumptive testing of the suspected narcotics located inside MEEKS’s bag yielded a positive result for methamphetamine with a total weight of 8.47 grams.

MEEKS is ineligible to possess firearms and ammunitions due to the following felony convictions for crimes of violence: Fifth Degree Drug Possession in Hennepin County District Court File No. ••-CR-••-•••• on December 13, 2018. Residential Burglary in Cook County, Illinois Court Case No. 2009C6610440 on November 24, 2009.
