Breann Dawn Smith

On February 20, 2026, law enforcement received a report of an escape from custody for Breann Dawn Smith [DOB REDACTED], defendant herein, who was an inmate at the Anoka County Workhouse located at 3300 4th Avenue, Anoka, Anoka County. According to the report, defendant went into the female locker room at 7:59 P.M. On February 10, 2026, packed up her belongings, and left the workhouse at 8:00 P.M. Defendant left without permission and never returned. Defendant was ordered to do 120 days in the workhouse with a report date of January 30, 2026, as part of her disposition in her probation violation in court file no. 02-CR-24-8410 for her felony conviction for receiving stolen property – motor vehicle.

Defendant has two pending felony cases in Anoka County with active felony failure-to-appear warrants from March 3, 2026, in 02-CR-25-7675 and 02-CR-26-508. Given this information and the unknown whereabouts of defendant, the State respectfully requests a body-only complaint warrant issue in this matter and requests that the defendant be held in custody until appropriate bail and conditions of release be set pursuant to Minn. R. Crim. P. 6.02, subd. 1.
