On or about February 28, 2026, Officers with the Minneapolis Police Department responded to HCMC on the report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, Officers learned that the stabbing occurred outside Victim’s residence on the 3300 Block of 3rd Ave S in Minneapolis, Hennepin County Minnesota. Officers were unable to take a statement upon arriving at the hospital due to Victim’s condition. Officers spoke to Victim’s boyfriend, Witness 1 herein, who lives with him. Witness 1 stated that on that date around 9:15 P.M. He heard loud yelling and the sounds of a fight.
He went outside and saw Victim and two people running away. Witness 1 described the two people running away as a white male and a white female. The two people got into a green chevy truck with a mesh trailer and fled the scene. Witness 1 then helped Victim get to the hospital via Uber. Victim had suffered a stab wound to the left side on his rib cage and a broken nose. Officers then responded to the scene and found blood inside the residence. Outside the residence they found one black ear bud. Officers spoke with identified Witness 2, who stated that Victim and Witness 1 had been fighting all night and Victim went outside and began hitting a green truck that belonged to the people who lived across the street.
The owner of the green truck came outside and confronted Victim. Witness 2 heard a lot of yelling. Police also spoke with identified Witness 3 who was hesitant to speak to police but confirmed that the owner of the green truck lived across the street and was involved in the fight. Officers looked up the residence that the witnesses stated the owners of the truck lived at. Officers found a male and female individual who matched the descriptions of the people who ran to the truck after the stabbing.
The male was named Mark Alan Klein [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. Officers found that on a Facebook account linked to Defendant he had posted a picture of the Green Pickup truck. During a photo lineup Victim positively identified a photo of Defendant as the person who stabbed him. On March 3, 2026, Officers were able to take a follow up statement from Victim who pointed out the address where the male and female came from; this was the same address Officers had used to identify Defendant. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was assaulted by both Defendant and the female.
Defendant and the female yelled “faggot” at him multiple times during the assault. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was waiting outside for an uber when the female started yelling at him from the top window of the residence across the street. She and Defendant then came out of the home and were approaching Victim accusing him of tampering with their truck. Victim stated he retreated to his porch. Once on the porch both the female and Defendant attacked him and began punching him. During this altercation he was stabbed.
