On January 26, 2026, at approximately 10:46 hours, officers with the Brooklyn Park Police Department were dispatched to a reported assault at a residence located at [ADDRESS REDACTED] North in Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Officers made contact by telephone with the adult female victim, [NAME REDACTED]. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had communicated with a male through an online application and agreed to meet him at his residence. The victim traveled to [ADDRESS REDACTED] North, where she was met by suspect and brought inside the residence.
The suspect then led Victim to a bedroom in the basement of the home and closed the door behind them. Victim [NAME REDACTED] inside the bedroom, the male exposed his penis and told her to remove her clothing and “bend over.” Victim told the male that she did not want to engage in sexual activity and attempted to leave the room. Victim [NAME REDACTED] attempted to leave, the suspect moved in front of the bedroom door and blocked her exit. Victim [NAME REDACTED] attempted to open the door and retrieve her phone from her purse, and the male said, “Oh you think you’re calling the police?” Victim reported that when she again attempted to get out of the room, the suspect grabbed her around the neck using his arm and physically restrained her inside the room.
The victim reported that she physically resisted and was eventually able to get out of the bedroom and run upstairs toward the exit. As she attempted to flee, the male again grabbed her around the neck and slammed her onto the stairs. The victim [NAME REDACTED] on the wrist during the struggle. The victim [NAME REDACTED] during the assault, the male held onto her purse and cell phone and pulled at and damaged portions of her clothing while she attempted to escape. The victim ultimately fled the residence and ran to a waiting vehicle outside the home.
A witness later corroborated that the victim ran out of the residence in a panicked state without her belongings and reported that the victim [NAME REDACTED] attempted to force her to engage in sexual activity. The witness further reported observing injuries on the victim, including scratches to her neck, face, arm, and leg. The victim later positively identified BOSCO BOSSOU SOROPOGUI [DOB REDACTED] in a photographic lineup as the individual who assaulted her. Law enforcement later contacted the defendant regarding the incident.
During that conversation, the defendant admitted that he meets women through online applications for sexual activity in exchange for money. The defendant admitted bringing the victim downstairs into a bedroom at the residence after she arrived. The defendant further stated that the victim [NAME REDACTED] in sexual activity and said no to sexual activity when he refused to provide payment up front. Defendant denied there was any kind of physical altercation and the female simply left. Just four days earlier, on January 22, 2026, a separate adult female reported a similar assault involving the same defendant at the same residence.
