The following is based on your complainant’s review of the reports of other officers and your complainant’s own investigation: May 7 (SPPD 26-075211) At about 3:00am on May 7, 2026, Ramsey County Emergency 911 received a call that an unknown man had climbed through the window of a St. Paul apartment and was attempting to assault a 14-year old girl. The girl told police that she had awakened to find the man sucking on her foot and that he had then rubbed his knee on her vagina. She said that when she fought back, he threw her against a mirror.
Over the ensuing days, the man was identified as the defendant, EDUART GOMEZ OCHOA ([DOB REDACTED]). He was later charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Second Degree, Burglary in the First Degree, and Assault in the Third Degree for the incident (Case No. ••-CR-••-••••). May 12 (Maplewood PD 26-013717) Five days later (on May 12), at about 1:30am, Ramsey County Emergency 911 received a call from an apartment building on Mississippi St. N. In Maplewood, Ramsey County (about a mile and a half from the May 7 incident). The caller said that her aunt was reporting having been assaulted by an unknown man.
Maplewood Police responded to the scene, where they found a woman in shock. She was identified as MT ([DOB REDACTED]). She said that she had been walking in the parking lot to retrieve something from her vehicle. She said that she saw no one around. She said that as she approached the driver’s side, an unknown man suddenly grabbed her from behind, slammed her head on the door, and bit the side of her face. She said that she screamed. She said that when the man believed that someone was walking out to the parking lot, he released her and walked away.
Officers observed and photographed significant bleeding from MT’s eyebrow, redness and swelling on the top of her head, and an apparent bite mark on her cheek. MT said that she believed that the man’s goal was sexual. She said that he said nothing to her and did not attempt to take the purse that she was carrying. In a follow up interview several days later, she added that the man started with his hands around her neck. She said that as he bit her, she felt his whiskers on her cheek. She said that he “tried to touch” her breasts “but it all came fast and I tried to move out of the way.” Surveillance video was recovered.
It shows the assault from a distance. The man can be seen to be wearing a red jacket and black-and-white tennis shoes. He was identified as the defendant. May 15 (Maplewood PD 26-014161) Three days after that (May 15), at about 11:30pm, Ramsey County Emergency 911 received yet another call, this time from an apartment on Larpenteur Ave. E., Maplewood, Ramsey County (midway between the May 7 and 12 incidents). The caller said that an unknown man had just grabbed her buttock in a hallway of the building.
