On April 20, 2026, at approximately 1236 hours, Hennepin County Sheriff's Officers were moving inmates at the Hennepin County Government Center, 300 6th Street, Minneapolis, Hennepin County, when they were involved in an incident with inmate ANDREW YOUNG III, Defendant herein. Officers were bringing the Defendant to court and completing a custodial clothing search when the Defendant handed the Officer several papers in his hands. While the Officer was unfolding the papers, an item dropped to the floor that appeared to be several white rocks of suspected narcotics in a baggie.

The Defendant attempted to step on and destroy the suspected narcotics. The paperwork the Defendant handed to the Officer was used to conceal a plastic bag that contained 15 small baggies of suspected narcotics. One baggie was opened and FTP for fentanyl. The total weight without packaging is 2.0 grams. The Defendant is currently in custody.
