On March 31, 2026, at about 7:20 P.M., Officer Beck of the Rochester Police Department responded to a retail theft at a store located in southwest Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota. Upon arrival, Officer Beck met with store employee (an adult male identified in the police reports and herein referred to as Witness) who reported that a male subject had taken merchandise and exited the store without paying. Witness stated the male was in the store for about 15 minutes and threw items over his arm while selecting merchandise and did not consider sizes when selecting items.
He was offered baskets but he refused and would not acknowledge anyone. Witness stated the male walked out the front door with the merchandise and was in the vestibule when employee grabbed him. The total value of the merchandise was $1,094.98. The male later called and admitted to the theft. He was identified as Kemal Mahic [DOB REDACTED]. Mahic was located and arrested for the theft. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: YOU MUST APPEAR FOR EVERY COURT HEARING REGARDING THIS CASE. FAILURE TO APPEAR FOR COURT IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE AND MAY RESULT IN ADDITIONAL CRIMINAL CHARGES BEING IMPOSED AND PUNISHED AS PROVIDED IN MINNESOTA STATUTES SECTION 609.49.
