On November 20, 2025, officers responded to the Hallon Apartment Complex in St. Louis Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota, due to burglaries of cars in the locked parking garage of the complex. Officers eventually spoke with L. L., who told them that he had parked his black Kia in the garage on the night of 11/20/25 and the next morning when he entered his car, the inside had been ransacked and a rifle and a rifle bag that had been in the trunk of his car had been taken without his consent. Subsequent investigation showed Mohamed Abdirizak Jama, [DOB REDACTED], hereafter defendant, enter the private parking garage and later showed him walking through the garage with the rifle bag.
The defendant was arrested on 12/2/25 on unrelated charges driving a silver Toyota Corolla with plates HMA895. The same vehicle was seen on video surveillance driving around the Hallon Apartment Complex on 11/20/25. Additionally, the defendant was wearing distinct black and yellow Jordan shoes when he was arrested on 12/2/25 and the defendant was seen wearing the same distinct shoes while at the Hallon Apartment Complex walking with the rifle bag. The defendant is also identified based on his prior contacts with St. Louis Park Police and the surveillance footage.
Additionally, officers learned of the defendant's phone number and obtained a tracking order for his device. T-Mobile records showed that the device used by the defendant was in the near vicinity of the Hallon Apartment Complex on the night of November 20, 2025. Based on the theft of a firearm, the defendant poses a threat to public safety, and the State is seeking a warrant for his arrest.
