David Ryan Pryde ([DOB redacted])(hereinafter “Defendant”) is a person required to register as a predatory offender in the State of Minnesota. The registration requirement stems from a North Dakota conviction on July 26, 2020. Defendant has been completing weekly check-ins as a predatory offender since his release from prison on January 26, 2026. Since his release, Defendant reported he was staying at the Willow Inn and Suites (Formerly known as the Bison Plains Lodge) located in the City of Moorhead, County of Clay, State of Minnesota.
On March 17, 2026, Defendant came to the law enforcement center in Moorhead, MN to check in and reported that he was now working in the maintenance department at the Willow Inn and Suites. On March 21, 2026, law enforcement learned that Defendant was fired from his maintenance position at the Willow Inn and he was evicted from the room he was staying in, Room #216, by the new owners. On March 24, 2026, Defendant came for his check in and reported that he was staying in Room #216 at the Willow Inn and Suites.
Sixteen days later, on April 2, 2026, Defendant completed a weekly check in and reported he was staying with his girlfriend at 3001 18th St. S #103 in Moorhead. As of close of business on April 10, 2026, Defendant had not come in for his weekly check in. Law enforcement made contact with Defendant’s MN DOC supervised release agent, who indicated that he went to the address on 18th St to complete a home visit and was unable to locate Defendant. The agent further reported Defendant had not made any attempt to contact the agent.
On April 10, 2026, at approximately 1954 hours, Moorhead Police Officers were dispatched to the law enforcement center after Defendant called stating he was wanting to update his information. Officers made contact with Defendant, who stated he had been staying at the Econo Lodge in Fargo, ND and that he was to be moving out of the motel on April 11, 2026 and was planning to move back to Moorhead and was potentially moving to another motel. Defendant referenced possibly planning to move into the Willow Inn and Suites.
A search of Defendant’s criminal history shows one previous conviction for failure to register as a predatory offender in Clay County, MN on September 7, 2024.
