M., St. Cloud Officer Colton Richter was dispatched to [ADDRESS REDACTED] SE, [APT REDACTED], in the city of St. Cloud, Sherburne County, Minnesota, on a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, Officer Richter met with a female, Victim A, stated that her boyfriend, identified as Donte Demario Conners, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter referred to as the defendant, assaulted her by slamming her to the ground. She stated that he had been her boyfriend on an off for about a year and it was a sexual relationship.
She had several fresh scratch marks, redness and the beginnings of bruises on multiple parts of her body. She noted pain in her right arm. She stated that the defendant was going westbound through the parking lot, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, jeans, and carrying a backpack. She said that he would likely be heading to [ADDRESS REDACTED]. Victim A was crying and broke down while she was telling law enforcement what occurred. Victim A stated that she and the defendant argued after she found out that he was having contact with his former girlfriend, with whom he has an active domestic abuse no contact order.
Victim A showed Officer Richter text messages that were sent to her from the defendant’s former girlfriend, that captured conversations between the two of them. The former girlfriend acknowledged that they were having sexual contact and communicating via texts. Victim A told the defendant that she wanted to break up and that he would have to leave her apartment, where he was residing. Victim A was on the phone with the former girlfriend at the time of the confrontation. The defendant tried to grab the phone from Victim A. He wrapped his arm around her neck in a chokehold.
He lifted her up and slammed her to the ground. Victim A was able to push away from him. The defendant poured out the milk on the floor inside the apartment. St. Cloud Officer Mitchell Kucala observed someone matching the defendant’s description walking on the frontage road of Highway 10. The defendant was placed under arrest.
