On December 15, 2025, at approximately 4:27 A.M., Saint Louis Park Police Officers were dispatched to a domestic call at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Saint Louis Park, Hennepin County. Officers arrived shortly thereafter and met with the reporting party, hereinafter "Victim." She was visibly distraught, and officers observed abrasions under both her arm pits, red striations around her neck, and a long red mark on the left side of her chin. She stated that her ex-boyfriend, ALEXANDER CHUMA, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter "Defendant," had come over to her apartment at 4:00 P.M. The day before.
He had been drinking and continued to drink at her place. They started to watch the Vikings game, and ordered food. She went to the kitchen to put food away. She said then they began to argue and fight, and Defendant shoved her backward. She crashed in the countertop. She showed officers a light purplish bruising on her lower back below her ribcage. She then said he pinned her to the ground, and slapped continuously between the living room couch and coffee table. She resigned herself to being hit while being pinned in his position.
She described another altercation occurred while they were on the couch in which she was pinned to the couch again and slapped repeatedly. She said she was pinned again with both of his hands around her neck. She said he began to squeeze her neck, intentionally impeding her breathing, and causing her to “choke”. She described that she struggled to breathe while in this position and did not lose consciousness. She attempted to fight against Defendant while in this position but was unable to release herself from his grip.
Officers entered the apartment and discovered Defendant sitting on the couch. He was arrested and taken into custody. He was brought to the Hennepin County Jail where he remains in custody.
