On December 25, 2025, at around 1:56am, Officer Logan Strang of the Wyoming Police Department noted a vehicle traveling well about the posted speed limit in the area of Forest Blvd and Lake Blvd in Chisago County, Minnesota. Officer Strang activated his front-facing radar and confirmed the suspect vehicle to be traveling at a rate of 88 mph in a 55-mph zone. Officer Strang initiated a traffic stop and made contact with the driver and sole occupant, identified by Montana driver's license as JACOB ALLEN KEEN, [DOB REDACTED] ("Defendant" herein). While speaking with Defendant, Officer Strang observed an odor of consumed alcoholic beverage and noted Defendant's eyes to be bloodshot and watery.
When asked, Defendant advised he was coming from a buddy's house where he'd had one beer. Defendant agreed to perform standardized field sobriety test, during which Officer Strang noted additional indicators of intoxication, including six clues on the HGN test, three clues on the Walk and Turn, and a preliminary breath sample of.165. Defendant was placed under arrest on suspicion of DWI. While being escorted to Officer Strang's squad car, Defendant advised that there was a firearm in the center console of his vehicle.
The referenced firearm was located and determined to be a Glock 19 pistol (serial number BVTV461) equipped with a loaded 15- round magazine; a second loaded magazine was also located in the center console. Defendant does not have a valid permit to carry.
