On April 7, 2026, at about 7:42pm, Robbinsdale Police observed a vehicle speeding eastbound on 36th Ave near June Ave N in Robbinsdale, Hennepin County. A traffic stop was conducted, and officers approached the driver, identified as ROYDRIC GEMAME JENNINGS ([DOB redacted]), Defendant herein. Defendant stated that he did not have a valid license and was going to get insurance on the vehicle today. Defendant's eyes were bloodshot and watery, and his speech was slurred. Officers had Defendant step out of the vehicle to perform field-sobriety tests.
As Defendant stepped out, officers saw an open can of Miller High Life in the corner of the driver's seat next to the seatbelt buckle and the center console. The odor of alcohol was emitting from Defendant's breath. Defendant was observed to have multiple clues of impairment during FSTs: he had both horizontal and vertical gaze nystagmus in both eyes, he failed to follow instructions despite being told multiple times, he could not balance, and he could not walk in a straight line. Defendant was taken into custody, and a search of his person resulted in the recovery of two baggies of suspected narcotics from his pants pockets.
One baggie contained 1.49 grams of field-test-positive cocaine, and the other contained 2.26 grams FTP cocaine, for a total of 3.75 grams. The MN Breath Test Advisory was read to Defendant, and Defendant completed the test, with a BAC of 0.13 at 8:31pm. Defendant is currently in custody at Hennepin County Jail.
