On May 9, 2026, just after 9:00 P.M. Hours, law enforcement was dispatched to the area of 53rd Ave NE and University Ave NE, City of Fridley, County of Anoka, State of Minnesota on a report of a female that had been shot in a vehicle and a five-year-old child running around asking for help for her mother. Upon arriving in the area, Fridley Officers located a Chevrolet Tahoe sitting in the grass off the roadway near University Ave NE and I-694. Officers made contact with Victim A, who had been shot in the neck.
Victim A advised that she believed she had been shot approximately one block south on University Ave NE. Victim A was transported to North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale by Allina Health EMS. Officers continued gathering information and were advised that the possible suspect lived next door to Victim A’s friend. A records check of that address showed a male, CORDARYLE FRANK ALLEN FROST [DOB REDACTED], formerly known as Cordaryle Louis Jones, Defendant herein, that was listed as an occupant of that address.
It was also noted that a female, Cynthia Frost [DOB REDACTED], the Defendant's wife, lived at that location as well. Officers were able to speak with Victim A further over the following days. Victim A stated that she was at a prom send-off party in Columbia Heights at a friend’s house. She left and when she was approximately a block away, the Defendant's vehicle pulled up beside her and the Defendant and the female passenger were yelling at her to pull over. Victim A described the Defendant as attempting something similar to a pit maneuver on her vehicle while she was driving.
Victim A eventually pulled over on the side of University and the Defendant and his wife both got out of their vehicle and approached her. Victim A described Cynthia Frost coming up to her vehicle and saying “run your s***” and telling Victim A she would “beat her ass.” As the Defendant and his wife became increasingly aggressive, Victim A drove away quickly to try and get away from them. The Defendant and his wife then got back into their vehicle, with the Defendant driving and his wife in the passenger seat.
The two then pulled alongside Victim A's drivers’ side. Victim A described suddenly hearing a shot and losing control of her vehicle and her own body. Victim A realized she had been shot and was unable to move her arms or legs or lift her head. Her vehicle then coasted into the grass where it was ultimately located. Victim A’s five-year-old child was outside of the vehicle attempting to get help. Officers learned that the bullet was still lodged in Victim A’s neck and that she would require surgery.
Medical staff advised that she had a spinal cord injury and as a result had impaired motor function. The extent of the permanent injury is unclear at this time, but a successful surgery removed bullet fragments from Victim A’s neck which were secured by law enforcement. Through follow up investigation, a surveillance video of a neighboring business to the location of the party Victim A had been at was obtained. That video depicted Victim A’s vehicle parked in the street. It depicts Victim A come out to the vehicle and place her 5-year-old child [NAME REDACTED]. Victim A then gets into the vehicle and begins to back up, appearing to make contact with a Blazer parked behind her.
