On January 4, 2026, Brooklyn Park Police officers were dispatched to an apartment on the 5800 block of 73rd Avenue North in Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota, on a report of a domestic assault. Upon arrival, officers located a fully identified female, Victim herein, in the stairwell of the apartment. A male party was holding Victim’s left arm and indicated he felt the arm was either dislocated or broken. Victim was extremely upset and crying. There was a small child with Victim identified as Victim’s 5-year-old daughter.
Victim told officers that she came home today and her son, SHAROCH BUME [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, immediately began to argue with her about some items missing in the apartment or his bedroom. Defendant then began to assault Victim by hitting and pinching her while he was yelling at her. Defendant pushed her down onto the bed, got on top of her with some pillows and blankets, and held the pillow and blankets over her head. Defendant was attempting to smother her while he was yelling he will do this until she died.
Victim had difficulty breathing and believed she may have passed out while Defendant was pushing the pillow and blankets. Defendant was also punching and hitting Victim on the back of her head. Defendant violently smashed her left arm. Victim [NAME REDACTED] in extreme pain in her arm and believed it was either dislocated or broken. At some point, Victim broke free and ran out of the apartment and called friends to call the police. Victim’s 5-year-old daughter called the police and was present during the assault.
Defendant left the apartment on foot and officers were not able to locate him. On January 5, 2026, Victim called the police to say that she returned to the house earlier in the morning and saw Defendant sleeping in his room in the apartment. Officers arrived and arrested Defendant. In post- Miranda statement, Defendant told officers that he was at home when his mother confronted him about selling items. Victim had a large glass of water and began hitting him. Defendant grabbed Victim in a hug and took her to her room where he took a blanket and used it to push her on the bed.
Defendant stated that Victim began to scratch and choke him. Victim [NAME REDACTED] did not assault Defendant with a glass. Victim’s 5-year-old daughter also told officers that she saw Defendant push Victim [NAME REDACTED], threw her onto the bed, and started beating her. Defendant is in custody.
