On or about 5/9/2026, at approximately 12:59 pm Officers with the Metro Transit Police department responded to a transit station on Lake Street in Hennepin County Minnesota for a report of a person who had been slashed with a knife. Upon arrival Officers located the victim and immediately noticed a slash and open wound on her right shoulder. The Victim [NAME REDACTED] was sitting at the bus stop and trying to smoke weed when an unknown male sat next to her. The victim asked the unknown male to get away because she was too close to him.
The Victim was unable to provide a further statement due to the slash on her arm. The medics then arrived and transported her to HCMC. At HCMC the Victim provided a further statement saying that she was sitting on the bench of the westbound B line stop at Lake St when the unknown male walked across the street and sat next to her. She asked him to get away as he was intoxicated and made her feel uncomfortable. He bumped her and she asked him to get off her. The unknown male said “I got rope for this white b****.” The Victim threw a drink at him and spat on him.
The Victim then walked away without realizing that the unknown male had slashed her right arm with a knife. On May 12, 2026 a Metro Transit Officer on patrol in the area of Lake and Blaisdell Ave in Minneapolis, Hennepin County, recognized an individual who matched the photo of the suspect from the slashing on 5/9/2026, taken from Metro Transit video of the incident. The Officer approached the individual and identified him as Jerold Cardell Wilson [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein. The Defendant admitted to drinking at the transit station and a pocket knife was recovered from his person.
When he was arrested he asked what he was arrested for. When told that there was a photograph of him from the incident, he replied that the Officers got the wrong person and he “only do something when someone hits me” Officers were able to view surveillance video of the incident and a fakebook video of the incident both of which show the two people engaged in an argument, after being yelled at and spit on the Defendant can be seen slashing the victim with a knife. After the incident the Officers were able to view video of the Defendant on a bus talking to several passengers about the incident stating “I could have killed her.
I’m glad I didn’t though, it ain’t worth it.” He went on to say “I got this hook blade! That’s a murder weapon, boy!” The knife seen in the video matches the knife recovered from his person. On 5/13/2026, a Hennepin County probation agent positively identified the Defendant as the Defendant who is currently on probation The Defendant is in custody on this charge.
