On 5/17/2025 officers were sent to a report of someone yelling for help in the area of [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Robbinsdale, Hennepin County. Upon arrival officers located Victim KD walking toward their squad car. Officers immediately noticed Victim [NAME REDACTED] in blood on her head, face, and hands. A large laceration on the top of her head was observed. Victim KD explained that her girlfriend, MICHAELA MARIE MCDONALD, [DOB REDACTED] (now referred to as "DEFENDANT"), "hit me in the head with a wooden stick." North Memorial ambulance arrived and Victim KD was transported to the hospital.
A formal statement was taken by Victim KD who explained that her and DEFENDANT have been in a significant relationship for approximately one year. Victim KD said that that day she and DEFENDANT were hanging out and that they had gotten into a brief verbal argument. They were able to settle their differences and then walked to the Birdhouse restaurant in Robbinsdale where they had dinner and several alcoholic beverages. Victim KD said when they were getting ready to leave they got into an argument as she wanted to take a Uber back to the residence, and DEFENDANT did not want to spend the money on it.
Victim KD took the Uber and upon arrival back at the apartment she stated that her and DEFENDANT then began to get into another verbal argument that quickly turned physical to the point where Victim KD had to lock herself in the bathroom to get away. She stated DEFENDANT was able to force her way into the bathroom and grabbed her by her neck and pulled her into the living room. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was being pulled from the bathroom there was pressure around her neck, and her breathing was compromised.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] had gotten into the living room, DEFENDANT found a wooden stick and struck her at least one time in the head. Victim [NAME REDACTED] was bleeding and left the apartment as DEFENDANT followed her out yelling, “Good luck! Nobody is going to help you!” Victim KD stated that she then walked down Hubbard Ave N looking for assistance from anybody on the street where she was picked up by a good Samaritan who then called 911. Medical records show Victim KD had a 3 CM laceration to her head that required five staples to close.
A warrant is requested in the interest of public safety.
