Your complainant is an officer with the Orono Police Department. Your complainant states that on October 23, 2025, at approximately 1:48 A.M., he responded to a domestic assault that occurred at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in the City of Mound, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Your complainant was advised that the reporting party, CGL, was attempting to collect his belongings from his ex-girlfriend, later identified as KAYLA LYNN CARLSON, [DOB REDACTED], the defendant herein, when she struck him with a flooring plank.
Officers arrived on scene and located CGL. Officer Palm observed that CGL had a large red mark on the right side of his forehead and nose. Your complainant made contact with CGL, who stated that he and the defendant had been arguing over his tools that were at the house. CGL stated that the defendant became angry and began yelling at him. CGL stated that the defendant attempted to grab at him before striking him in the forehead and right forearm with a flooring plank, and that the defendant repeatedly grabbed at his clothing and scratched him during the altercation.
CGL also stated that earlier in the evening, at approximately 8:30 P.M., the defendant had broken a coffee mug over his head. CGL stated that the defendant also had an axe, and had threatened to kill him. CGL stated that he is afraid of the defendant. Your complainant made contact with the defendant at the residence. The defendant admitted that she and CGL had argued, that she had grabbed at CGL’s clothing, ripped CGL's shirt, and that she had struck CGL with the flooring plank. The defendant stated that she and CGL have been in an “on again, off again” sexual relationship, and have previously lived together.
