Probable Cause
On March 27, 2026, at approximately 0037 hours, Ofc. Turney was dispatched to a domestic disturbance at an apartment located in Dilworth, Clay County, MN. The Complainant indicated that he was being abused by a female in his home. The Complainant was later identified to be J. V., hereinafter "Victim." The female involved was later identified to be MELISSA LYNN GREYWIND [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter "Defendant." When police arrived, arguing could be heard from inside the apartment in question. The Victim then exited the apartment and explained that the Victim had been threatening him and drinking all night.
He indicated that she was "tormenting" him all night, making threats that she would "kill [him] in [his] sleep." Defendant also told him, "I'm going to stab you with a knife when you're sleeping," and "I will hit you in the head with a pan." Victim was concerned that that she would grab a knife or pan and follow through with the threats. Victim did not want law enforcement to arrest the Defendant, so an arrest warrant needed to be executed before law enforcement were able to apprehend the Defendant.
When the Defendant was eventually transported to the Clay County Jail, she provided a PBT which showed a BAC of 0.247. **This will be a DV Court case for scheduling purposes.
