On January 1, 2026 at approximately 8:08 A.M., Austin Police Department officers were dispatched to a residence in the 1900 block of 6th Avenue NE in the City of Austin, County of Mower. Dispatch advised officers that they could hear yelling and that someone was hit in the face with a mug. Austin Police Department Officer James Lunt arrived on scene, and as he walked to the front door, he could hear multiple people inside the residence, yelling. Officer Lunt knocked loudly on the door and announced police.
The door opened, and Officer Lunt observed three females yelling and stumbling around; it was apparent to him that they were extremely intoxicated. Officer Lunt ordered them to sit on the sofa for officer safety, noting the house was in disarray and smelled strongly of alcohol and marijuana. Austin Police Department Officer Sam Schuweiler arrived on scene and remained with the three females. Officer Lunt walked to the kitchen and made contact with Victim A (an adult male). Victim A was bleeding from the left side of his nose, and his shirt was wet.
Victim A was very animated and yelled repeatedly “I was assaulted and want to press charges.” After a period of time, Officer Lunt was able to calm Victim A down, and Officer Lunt asked him what was going on. Victim A said he was sitting at a table, rolling a blunt, when the three females approached him and said “What did you say to my sister?” Victim A replied “F@#$ your sisters, they be loud and obnoxious,” and while still seated at the table, the females walked up to him and “bust” him in the face with a glass.
Victim A said at first he thought just a drink was thrown at him because he didn’t feel pain initially. Officer Lunt asked Victim A which female hit him in the face with a glass mug, and Victim A said “the sister, Jade Martinez,” later identified as JADE MARTINEZ, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter the defendant. Victim A then said the three females grabbed his hair with one hand and hit him in the face. Victim A then said one of the females, STEPHANIE MARTINEZ, [DOB REDACTED], grabbed some scissors as though he was going to cut him.
Victim A said he began yelling for the homeowner, Witness 1 (an adult male), to help him as he was afraid they were going to kill him. Victim A said he began pushing the females away from him while the continued to hold his hair. Victim A said he grabbed a couch cushion and held it in front of him as they chased him into the bathroom and around the house. Victim A said he has no relationship with any of the females and they just came over. Officer Lunt asked Victim A if he wanted an ambulance, and he declined.
Officer Lunt told Victim A that he may need stitches to close the laceration on the left side of his nose, and Victim A said he would just glue it. Officer Lunt spoke with Witness 1, and Witness 1 said he saw the whole incident. Witness 1 said the three females were running around the house, throwing beer bottles at the wall and chasing Victim A as though they were going to hit him with a bottle. Witness 1 said he saw STEPHANIE MARTINEZ with scissors, and he grabbed them from her and placed them on the end table.
