On January 8, 2026, WILLIAM DHIRMAL BRAZELTON ([DOB redacted]) went to JC Penney at [address omitted] 36 West, Roseville, Ramsey County. Brazelton took multiple items of the same piece of merchandise into a fitting room. Loss prevention believed Brazelton was going to conceal some of the items and discard the rest. Brazelton left the fitting room with multiple items concealed. Brazelton left the store without paying for the items, and he refused to stop for loss prevention employees. An officer stopped and arrested Brazelton.
Brazelton had 4 items from JC Penney valued at $245 in his backpack. The anti-theft security sensors on the items had been covered with aluminum foil to prevent the theft alarms from sounding when Brazelton left the store. Officers also found a clear plastic case in the backpack that held suspected crack cocaine. The contents of the plastic case recovered from Brazelton tested positive for the presence of cocaine and weighed 0.215 grams. Brazelton has a prior VOCSL 5 conviction in Hennepin County District Court file 27-CR-05-013686. Brazelton has 5 prior felony convictions: simple robbery, possession of a firearm by an ineligible person, robbery with threat of force, robbery by intimidation, and VOCSL 5. Brazelton was just released from the Minnesota Department of Corrections on September 8, 2025. Complainant reached out to Brazelton's probation officer for a current address for a summons.
Brazelton never responded to his probation officers phone messages.
