On May 26, 2026, approximately around 1:03 P.M., Minneapolis Police Department Officers were notified of a blue Chevrolet Silverado bearing MN license plates UBS435 that was previously reported stolen and was now at the location of Cedar Avenue South and Franklin Avenue South in Minneapolis. Upon arrival, officers located the Silverado. Officers confirmed the Silverado was reported stolen. Officers followed the Silverado to the area of 29th and 18th Avenue South. Officers observed the Silverado use the bus only lane to drive around other motor vehicles.
Officers were able to observe the driver of the Silverado was a male wearing a black shirt and a distinctive bracelet. Officers continued to follow the Silverado until it parked in the alleyway of 2800 block between Dupont Avenue North and Colfax Avenue North. Officers approached the Silverado and identified themselves as police. The driver of the Silverado then fled in the stolen motor vehicle towards the rear of the 2800 block of Dupont Avenue North, and drove through a chain-link fence and into the rear of a residence.
The driver then climbed out of the passenger window and proceeded to flee on foot. Officers eventually located the driver. The driver actively resisted arrest and reached towards an officer's department issued handgun. Officers eventually placed the driver under arrest and later identified him as CHRISTOPHER PHENOYA WILLIAMS JR. [DOB REDACTED] "Defendant" herein. Officers placed the Defendant under arrest. Officers searched the Defendant and located three plastic baggies inside of his front right pocket.
Inside of the third plastic baggie was small baggie containing a white powdery substance. Also, inside of the baggie were two colored pieces of paper. Inside of the blue piece of paper officers located a pill with the marking of "2 0" and "S". Inside of the teal piece of paper officers located a white crystalized substance. Officers also conducted a search of the Silverado. Inside of the Silverado officers located a small scale. While searching the Silverado officers observed the passenger side door handle was tampered and the ignition was punched out.
Officers later field tested the contents of the small clear plastic baggie. The contents of the small clear plastic baggie field tested positive for 0.46 grams of fentanyl. The contents of the teal piece of paper field tested positive for 0.25 grams of fentanyl. Officers also identified the pill from the blue piece of paper as Methylphenidate Hydrochloride. At present, Defendant is in custody.
