11/07/1984 (“Defendant”). Dep. Clark spoke with H. M. Over the phone and then in-person at H. M.’s ex-wife’s house. H. M. Stated the night before he and the Defendant were at their residence in Kensington, Minnesota. H. M. Stated his two children were also present. H. M. Stated he and the Defendant were drinking and smoking marijuana throughout the night and an argument ensued with the Defendant accused H. M. Of cheating. Dep. Clark observed a large goose egg above H. M.’s left eye with a laceration over the top of it.
The injury was slit open, and he had a swollen left eye right at the bridge of the nose. Dep. Clark observed bruising on H. M.’s arms, including three different bite wounds. H. M. Also had a lot of bruising to the right side of his neck that would align with a handprint choking him. Based on my observations of his injuries I asked him if he wanted to go to the hospital. Paramedics were called to evaluate H. M.’s injuries. H. M. Stated that the night prior, on 04/01/2026, he was at the address of [ADDRESS REDACTED] with the Defendant.
H. M. Stated that everything was fine until 7:30-8:00pm, which is around the time he and the Defendant got into an argument. Then a physical altercation ensued. H. M. Stated the Defendant had his phone during the assault and refused to give it back to him. H. M. Stated the Defendant takes his phone every morning to check it because she believes he is cheating on her. Deputies and officers with the Alexandria Police Department responded to the Defendant’s address, but she did not answer the door or respond to officer commands.
A search warrant was executed at the residence, and the Defendant was located inside and taken into custody without incident. When questioned about the assault, the Defendant stated she wasn’t sure what happened. Officers observed bruising on the Defendant consistent with statements previously made by H. M. The Defendant stated the fight started when H. M. Pushed her and began calling her vulgar names. The Defendant admitted to punching H. M. 1-2 times because he called her a slut. The Defendant also claimed she was acting in self- defense because H. M. Kept coming after her.
The Defendant has two prior domestic assault-related convictions within the past 10 years. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: Pursuant to Minn. Stat. § 609.49, intentional failure to appear for duly scheduled court appearances may result in additional criminal charges in addition to any arrest warrant that may otherwise be issued by the Court.
