On September 21, 2025, at approximately 4:00 A.M., Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Clark responded to a motor vehicle crash in the area of Minnesota Trunk Highway 65 and 63rd Avenue in the City of Fridley, Anoka County, Minnesota. Upon arrival Trooper Clark spoke with a Fridley Police Officer who arrived on scene prior to him. The Fridley Officer directed Trooper Clark to the driver of a 2015 BMW vehicle involved in the accident. Trooper Clark observed heavy front-end damage to the BMW. Trooper Clark made contact with the driver of the BMW identified as SHEIKU TEJAN DEEN, [DOB REDACTED], hereinafter defendant.
According to the defendant, he rear ended another vehicle after it stopped abruptly on the highway. During the course of the conversation, Trooper Clark noted signs of impairment on the defendant and ultimately obtained a preliminary breath test which provided a reading of 0.168 blood alcohol concentration. During a search incident to arrest, Trooper Clark located a clear plastic baggie containing suspected cocaine residue, a dollar bill containing 0.32 grams of cocaine that NIK tested positive as cocaine and a two dollar bills containing suspected cocaine residue on the defendant’s person.
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Forensic Laboratory tested the suspected cocaine and confirmed the presence of cocaine weighing 0.274 grams.
