On April 20, 2026, law enforcement made contact with A. K. M. In the lobby of the Cottage Grove Police Department. A. K. M. Was visibly upset and in pain. A. K. M. Limped when she walked. Her chest was red. There were deep scratches on the right side of A. K. M.'s neck. There were additional scratches on her arms. A. K. M.'s right ring finger was actively bleeding. A. K. M. Reported that she helped the father of her child [NAME REDACTED], [DOB REDACTED], "the defendant" herein, move items from his storage unit.
While they were moving, the defendant was critical of the way A. K. M. Helped. After they finished, they picked up food and went to the defendant's house located in Cottage Grove, Washington County, Minnesota. The defendant's grandmother, P. A. H., was also present. The defendant got into a verbal argument with P. A. H. A. K. M. Tried to intervene, but was unsuccessful. She then went to grab her food from the defendant's bedroom. While she was entering, the defendant kicked the door so that it struck her twice.
A. K. M. Fell to the ground. She stood up and threw her food at the defendant. The defendant then grabbed her by her neck. A. K. M. Tried to get away, but fell to the ground again. The defendant got on top of her, but she freed herself by fighting back. The defendant then grabbed her by her neck. He eventually let go and grabbed a hammer. He held the hammer up by his shoulder. He threatened to hit A. K. M. With it. He then swung the hammer against the wall, causing damage. A. K. M was able to eventually leave the residence.
She got into her vehicle. The defendant followed her and continued to yell at her. He then kicked and punched her vehicle as she drove away. A. K. M. Reported that she believed the defendant would end up killing her one day. Law enforcement responded to the defendant's residence, but could not locate the defendant. Officer did speak with P. A. H. She reported that she was in her bedroom down the hall when she heard the defendant "attacking" A. K. M. Specifically, she heard a lot of screaming and items being knocked around.
She saw A. K. M. Leave the defendant's bedroom and announce that she wanted to leave. The defendant followed close behind with a hammer in his hand. A. K. M. Fell down. The defendant stood over the top of her holding the hammer extended above his head. A. K. M. Continued to scream that she wanted to leave. The defendant then swung the hammer at the wall, creating a hole in the sheet rock. A. K. M. Then freed herself and left. The defendant took P. A. H.'s phone without her permission and left as well.
All attempts to locate the defendant have been unsuccessful. Law enforcement called the defendant numerous times. The defendant called back and told law enforcement that he would not turn himself in. A complaint warrant is requested. The defendant is pending a Felony Domestic Assault against his mother in Washington County District Court File Number ••-CR-••-••••.
