On March 5, 2026, at approximately 11:46 P.M., a Dundas Police Officer responded to an alarm call at the Tractor Supply in Dundas, Rice County, Minnesota. Upon arrival at the scene, law enforcement noticed the sliding glass doors in the front of the building, which faces south, were open approximately 2 inches. The Officer walked to the east side and rear of the building and nothing seemed out of place. The Officer then went to the west side of the building where he noticed that one of the sliding double-doors had shattered glass all over the outside of the door and inside the building.
The Officer then radioed for assistance. Law enforcement established a perimeter around the building. Law enforcement deployed an interior drone and searched the building, but the drone was unable to search the back rooms of the building due to closed doors. Law enforcement then searched the interior of the building with five officers and a K9 unit, but we unable to locate any suspects inside the building. Law enforcement met with the key holder of the business, R. L. W., and did a sweep of the building to make sure nothing seemed out of place.
R. L. W. Stated that nothing appeared out of place, the safes with money in them did not seem tampered with, and all money looked present. After sweeping the building, R. L. W. Began showing law enforcement security footage of the interior of the building. In the security footage, law enforcement noticed an individual on the video inside the building wearing black sweats, black gloves, a black face mask, and yellow and black shoes. Law enforcement then reviewed the security footage of exterior of the building.
The footage of the exterior showed the individual struggling to open the west side entrance. The individual then grabbed a fire extinguisher and threw the fire extinguisher through the sliding glass doors, shattering the glass and gaining access to the building. Once in the building, the individual walked straight to a red Coleman Powersports minibike that was sitting by the front entrance. The individual then grabbed the handle bars of the minibike and rolled it toward the front doors, where the individual pried open the front doors and exited the store with the minibike.
The individual then pushed the minibike west through the parking lot. Law enforcement then searched for the minibike to see if the individual had stashed it somewhere close and were able to find the minibike behind the businesses to the north of the Tractor Supply behind a truck that was not affiliated with this matter. Law enforcement then heard someone walking up the north parking lot of those businesses along County Rd. 1. The individual was seen and matched the description of the suspect seen on the security footage.
