Beginning in March, 2026, Hennepin County Sheriff's Office detectives began investigation into narcotics activity taking place behind a business on the 600 block of Cedar Ave S in Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Detectives had received information prior to this that an individual was selling fentanyl behind the business, and he often had another individual nearby to hold the supply of narcotics until a deal was made. The other individual would then transfer the narcotics to the buyer. On April 7th and 8th, detectives conducted surveillance on the parking lot behind the business.
They observed people smoking from bubble pipes and acting strangely, consistent with narcotics use. They also observed two people acting in accordance with the prior tip, with one person consistently interacting with people that approached, and the other person coming from outside the parking lot to briefly interact and then leave again. Officers approached the two on April 8, and they noticed one of them, later identified as MAHAD MOHAMED NOOR [DOB REDACTED], Defendant herein, had a white cup in his hand that he attempted to discreetly discard.
Officers recovered the white cup and found it to contain a plastic container and Ziploc baggie, which both also contained items. The plastic container contained 11.64 grams of loose powder and a baggie with 4.4 grams of powder, which both field-tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine. The Ziploc baggie contained 8.51 grams of loose powder which field-tested positive for fentanyl and methamphetamine, and another baggie which contained 19.42 grams of powder which field-tested positive for methamphetamine and cocaine.
In total, there was 35.46 grams containing cocaine and methamphetamine, and 8.51 grams containing methamphetamine and fentanyl. Defendant is currently in custody at Hennepin County Jail.
