On April 16, 2025, DEIRA WILLIAM BLAKELY [DOB REDACTED] went to Macy’s at 1595 Highway 36, Roseville, Ramsey County. Blakely repeatedly took items into a fitting room and concealed them. Blakely put on a pair of Macy’s gray sweatpants inside the fitting room. Asset protection tried stopping Blakely when he left the store without paying for the items. Blakely refused to return to the store, and he fled into the parking lot at around 8:45 PM. At around 9:30 PM, officers responded to [ADDRESS REDACTED] on a man hiding beneath her RAV4. CS told police she went to her vehicle after finishing work, and she found a Black male in a white t-shirt and gray sweatpants holding a gray bag hiding beneath it.
The man told CS not to scream, and he claimed he was hiding from his girlfriend. Officers found a blue hat underneath the RAV4 matching what Blakely wore inside of Macy’s. CS told police the man fled toward Blaze Credit Union. Officers found Blakely inside of Applebee’s. Staff told police Blakely left a bag at a table. Police found a blue jacket Blakey wore when he was at Macy’s and clothing stolen from Macy’s inside the bag. The security tags on the Macy’s clothing were covered in aluminum foil to defeat anti-theft devices at the store exits.
Blakely identified himself as Dwayne Edward Blakely [DOB REDACTED]. Dwayne Edward Blakely is a real person. Officers discerned Blakely’s true identity and discovered he had a warrant out of Dakota County. Blakely claimed he had ingested drugs and was taken to the hospital. Blakely was medically cleared and taken to the Ramsey County jail. Officers learned that the jail was no longer honoring warrants from other counties. Blakely was released from custody after being trespassed from the mall. Blakely has prior felony convictions for possession of over 10 grams of cocaine, VOCSL 3, and possession of burglary/theft tools.
On December 23, 2025, Blakely failed to appear on felony theft and possession of burglary/theft tool charges in Hennepin County District Court file 27-CR-25-19389. On December 23, 2025, Blakely failed to appear on gross misdemeanor theft, gross misdemeanor VOCSL 5, and gross misdemeanor providing a false name to police charges in Hennepin County District Court file 27-CR-25-20778. On January 21, 2026, Blakely failed to appear on possession of burglary/theft tool charges in Hennepin County District Court file 27-CR-25-32859. Blakely shoplifted by wrapping security sensors with tinfoil.
On March 11, 2026, Blakely failed to appear on gross misdemeanor providing a false name to police and misdemeanor theft charges in Dakota County District Court file 19HA-CR-26-1155.
