On April 21, 2026, officers responded to a head injury call at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in Brooklyn Park, Hennepin County, Minnesota. Dispatch notes relayed that the reporting party (“Victim”) was bleeding from their head and that Victim’s son had hit her in the head. Victim provided the suspect’s clothing description to dispatchers. A responding officer located a male party walking near the call location. This person matched the provided suspect description and became upset while speaking with the officer.
The officer later identified the male as Defendant ERNEST SARGBEH WORJLOH, born on [DOB REDACTED]. Defendant told the officer that Victim— his mother—had tried to poison him and that she had come at him. Thinking that he would be assaulted or maybe stabbed, Defendant punched Victim [NAME REDACTED], causing an injury. When the officer asked Defendant about a wrap on his right hand and apparent bleeding through the bandage, Defendant stated that he sustained this injury from punching Victim. At the residence, officers located Victim [NAME REDACTED] was holding a bloody towel to her head.
Victim [NAME REDACTED] on her neck and face. Officers also noted apparent fresh blood pooling on the kitchen floor near the sink. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had been struck multiple times in the face. Victim [NAME REDACTED] had returned home, was cleaning, and had started to make a drink. Her son—Defendant—came and requested some alcohol. When Victim refused to give Defendant any alcohol, he became angry and started yelling. Defendant knocked a drink over and ran at Victim, striking her head with a fist.
While striking Victim, [NAME REDACTED] would kill her. Defendant struck Victim [NAME REDACTED] in the head with a fist and struck her while she laid on the ground. Defendant and Victim live in the same residence. A relative ("Witness") also lives at the residence and spoke with police. Witness reported that he arrived at the residence and that he, Victim, and Defendant were about to have drinks together. Defendant then knocked glasses off the counter, went downstairs, and returned upstairs while screaming insults at Victim.
Witness recalled that Defendant stated that he was going to kill Victim [NAME REDACTED], causing her to fall. Defendant continued to strike Victim [NAME REDACTED] on the ground. When Witness tried to intervene, Defendant pushed him backwards and continued striking Victim. After the assault, Defendant demanded money from Victim. Witness gave Defendant $5 and told him to leave and buy items from a nearby gas station. Victim received hospital treatment for her injuries. Her diagnoses at the hospital included: (1) a six millimeter depressed left orbital floor fracture with fat herniation inferiorly; (2) subtle left medial orbital wall fracture; (3) small blood fluid level at the left maxillary sinus dependently.
