On or about October 29, 2025, at approximately 7:20 A.M., a Minneapolis Police Officer was on stopped at a stoplight at Lyndale Avenue North and Dowling, in the City of Minneapolis, Hennepin County, Minnesota, when he heard a crash occur behind him. The Officer exited his squad and observed a 5-vehicle crash that was caused by a Jeep Patriot (MN LIC: RNS273). The driver of the suspect vehicle was identified as SAMANTHA CHRISTINA TREVINO [DOB REDACTED], Defendant. Defendant stated she was looking at her ignition interlock.
The Defendant hit the vehicle in front of her, which caused the four vehicles in front of her to rear end each other. The Defendant hit the first vehicle, sideswiped the second vehicle before hitting a tree on the sidewalk. During a routine check of the Defendant’s DL status, an Officer confirmed, via the Defendant’s driving record, her privilege to drive a motor vehicle in the State of Minnesota was cancelled inimical to public safety on February 12, 2024, and her privileges have not been reinstated.
The Defendant had notice and/or reason to know that her driving privileges were cancelled. The Defendant has five prior convictions for Driving After Suspension and three prior convictions for Driving After Cancellation—Inimical to Public Safety. The Defendant continues to drive without a valid driver’s license and in the instant matter caused property damage and endangered the lives of others.
