On December 9, 2025, at approximately 4:15 P.M., Minneapolis-St. Paul Police Officers took a report of stolen baggage from an individual with the initials O. C., hereafter Victim. Victim had checked a black Adidas duffel bag with Southwest Airlines. The bag was scanned upon arrival at approximately 3:06 P.M., and sent to Carousel C. Officers checked security camera footage of Carousel C and observed a male, subsequently identified as GREGORIO DONAL FARMER, hereafter Defendant, and a female enter the frame at 3:11 P.M. With three red bags, take Victim’s black Adidas bag from the carousel, and then leave the airport with all four bags.
Officers used additional security cameras to determine that Defendant and the female arrived at the airport aboard Southwest Airlines flight WN835 from Nashville, the same flight that Victim [NAME REDACTED]. Victim reported that approximately $4,745 worth of personal property was in the duffel bag, and that no one had permission to take the bag. Officers used a reverse-imaging identification process to identify Defendant as a suspect. Officers obtained a subpoena for Southwest Airlines PNR for Defendant, which they used to confirm his identity and presence on flight WN835. Officers contacted Defendant over the phone.
Defendant reported that and the female flew into the airport on December 9 with three suitcases and a black Nike duffel bag, totaling four bags. Defendant stated that he accidentally took Victim’s Adidas duffel bag instead of his own Nike duffel bag. However, Southwest records showed that Defendant checked two bags, and the female checked one bag, totaling 3 bags. Defendant stated that he realized he had taken the wrong bag upon arriving at his hotel, the Minneapolis Embassy Suites, and turned it into the front desk at the hotel on December 11, 2026. Defendant also reported that the female collected his Nike duffel bag on that same day from Southwest Airlines.
Officers reviewed surveillance footage of the baggage services office for Southwest Airlines for December 11, 2026, which did not show the female picking up Defendant’s bag. Officers also spoke with the hotel manager at the Minneapolis Embassy Suites, who informed Officers that Defendant and the female checked into the hotel on December 9, 2026, with three suitcases and no duffel bag. The manager also confirmed that a black Adidas duffel bag was never turned in at the front desk. At present, Defendant is not in custody.
As Defendant resides outside of the State of Minnesota, the State requests that this complaint issue as a warrant.
