On October 10, 2025, at approximately 8:35 A.M., police were dispatched to Walgreens at [ADDRESS REDACTED] in St. Paul on a report of a theft. Walgreens reported that a male attempted to make a purchase with an EBT card that did not belong to him then left the store without paying for the merchandise. Police took photographs of the suspect from the surveillance footage. While canvassing the area, police observed a male matching the suspect description at [ADDRESS REDACTED], St. Paul, Ramsey County, Minnesota.
As an officer grabbed the suspect’s arm to walk him back to the squad, the suspect put his hand into his pocket, pulled out a small plastic container, and dropped it on the ground. The suspect was identified as MICHAEL DUANE ANDERSON – [DOB REDACTED]. ANDERSON had an active warrant for his arrest and was taken into custody. In a search incident to arrest, police located small plastic bags containing suspected narcotics in his pants pocket and backpack. Police also recovered the small plastic container ANDERSON dropped.
Presumptive testing was conducted on the suspected narcotics with the following results: Substance in the bag recovered from ANDERSON’s pants pocket yielded a positive result for methamphetamine with a net weight of.12 grams. Substance in the bag recovered from ANDERSON’s backpack yielded a positive result for methamphetamine with a net weight of 1.59 grams. Substance in the small plastic container yielded a positive result for methamphetamine with a net weight of.68 grams. The following information is offered for purposes of Rule 6.02. ANDERSON does not have a permanent address.
In addition, there are two misdemeanor warrants for ANDERSON’s arrest for failing to appear in court in Dakota County on December 10, 2025. ANDERSON has a lengthy criminal history including several convictions for drug-related offenses.
