On March 13, 2026, Cloquet Officers responded to Aspen Arms in Cloquet, Minnesota for a report of a disturbance. Officers were advised by dispatch that Erinn Lynn Crotteau, [DOB REDACTED], herein Defendant, was throwing stuff at the reporting party, later identified as K. A.M., [DOB REDACTED], who is Defendant's mother. When officers arrived they met with K. A.M. In the lobby, who stated that she had been allowing Defendant to stay with her the past few weeks. She stated Defendant was off her medications and had been throwing things at her, being verbally aggressive, pushing her and hitting her.
Defendant knocked a cereal bowl out of her hands and hit her in the side of her stomach area 2‐3 times. She also stated Defendant took her phone away from her when she told Defendant she was calling the cops and she wouldn't give it back so she had to call from the lobby because Defendant took her phone, driver's license, tribal ID and debit card. K. A.M. Stated she felt, "terrible, awful and abused". She stated Defendant needed to be removed. Officers then went up to the apartment and spoke with Defendant.
She stated she was just banging on the walls and didn't know what she was doing. Defendant denied having K. A.M.'s phone and stated it was in the apartment because she left it there when K. A.M. Left. Defendant was arrested and brought to the law enforcement center. During the booking process, Defendant was not cooperating. At one point she tried to push Sergeant Benko and she was able to push her hard enough that Sergeant Benko was moved backwards. Defendant has at least two prior qualifying domestic violence‐related offense convictions within the past ten years, with Minnesota court file: 73‐CR‐22‐2398 convicted of 5th degree assault on 3/22/2022 and Iowa court file: 039761FECR102161 convicted of assault with intent to inflict injury on 9/2/2018.
