Mr. Naples stated that the Defendant was yelling at this time but did not recall the exact words or whether the Defendant had rolled the window down. Following that, the Defendant then drove away, turned into a "random parking lot" and then took some neighborhood streets. Mr. Naples stated that he believed they were approaching County Road 10 when the Defendant ditched the firearm by throwing it out of the passenger side window. Within a short period of time law enforcement recovered this handgun from the middle of the roadway; the handgun was identified as Black in color Shadow Systems MR920 9 mm handgun serial #SSC08201. Also recovered was a Glock 15 roundMagazine, 15 rounds of unfired Blazer 9mm Luger Full Metal Jacket, 3 10-CR-26-39 Filed in District Court State of Minnesota 1/20/2026 and an Olite Mini Tactical light with green and red lasers (Serial #L41505702), found in proximity of the handgun, with the flashlight activated.
Law enforcement also took a recorded statement from an adult male, Brett Reis. Mr. Reis advised that they were going to the mall. He advised that he was sitting in the front passenger seat and only knew of one bag, which was the "Triiiple Threat' bag." Mr. Ries was also aware that the Defendant possessed a handgun that Reis believed was on the Defendant’s person. Mr. Reis stated it was a real firearm, and not a BB or pellet gun. Reis has seen Schuler with the firearm before. Reis stated Schuler pointed the gun at the back of the other vehicle from what he saw.
Reis stated after the gun pointing incident, the driver and the passenger got back into their vehicle and then slowly drove away. Mr. Reis stated that the Defendant threw the gun out the window near County Road 10 and County Road 11. A The Defendant was advised that he was being taken into custody, located in Brandon's left side back pocket of his jeans a mini Altoids container.
