On April 21, 2026, at approximately 1:57 in the morning, Minneapolis Police Officers were on routine patrol in the area of the 2900 block of Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis. Officers observed a vehicle in the drive through of a closed business at [ADDRESS REDACTED], Minneapolis, Hennepin County. Officers observed a No Trespassing signed posted on the front door of the business that appeared to be closed. Officers approached the vehicle in the drive through lane as no one should be in the drive through of the closed business.
The driver was later identified as ADAM COLBY MITCHELL, Defendant herein. Officers immediately saw in plain view the Defendant holding a bag of suspected narcotics in his left hand with a glass pipe. Officers advised the Defendant he was being placed under arrest for possession of suspected narcotics. The Defendant stated e "It's just meth." In a search incident to arrest, Officers located three rifle discharged cartridge casings in his left pocket and a black bag with more suspected narcotics inside.
The suspected narcotics from the black bag weighed 0.18 grams and tests were inconclusive. The suspected narcotics from the Defendant's hand weighed 1.03 grams and FTP for methamphetamine. The Defendant is currently in custody.
